মে মাসের প্রথমদিকে অর্থাৎ ২৪ বৈশাখ, শনিবার তালা থানার হরিণখোলা ও গোয়ালপোতা গ্রাম পাকবাহিনী ও রাজাকারদের দ্বারা আক্রান্ত হয়। গ্রাম দু’টিতে একচেটিয়া হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজন বসবাস করত। কয়েকজন পাকসেনা ও কুখ্যাত রাজাকার গুলবাহার (শাল্লে) এর নেতৃত্বে একদল রাজাকার উক্ত দু’টি গ্রামে ঢুকে মেশিনগান দিয়ে নির্বিচারে গুলি ও বেয়নেট দিয়ে খুঁচিয়ে হিন্দু ভদ্রলোকদের নৃশংসভাবে হত্যা করে। পুড়িয়ে দেয়া হয় উভয় গ্রামের কয়েকটি বসতঘর, রান্নাঘর, গোয়ালঘর ও ধানের গোলা। পাকসোনদের হাতে কেউই রক্ষা পায়নি বলে জানা যায়। হত্যাযজ্ঞের পর পাকসেনারা চলে গেলে অনেক দুষ্কৃতিকারী তাদের ঘরবাড়ি লুটপাট করে।   In early May, the villages of Harinkhola and Goyalpota at Tala Thana were attacked by the Pakistani army and Razakars. These two were Hindu inhabitant villages. Pakistani army and Razakars, led by the notorious Razakar Gulbahar (Shalle), entered into these two villages and fire indiscriminately with machine guns. Homes were burnt down in both villages. No one could, especially Hindu family, spare from the hands of them. Even many miscreants looted their houses too.

বর্তমানে মুক্তিযোদ্ধা কবীর সাহেবের চারতলা বাড়ীসহ বাড়ীর পিছনে পর্যন্ত দীনেশ কর্মকারের বাড়ী ছিল। এই বাড়ীতে শরণার্থীরা আশ্রয় নেয়।  তাদের গণহত্যা করার পর দীনেশ কর্মকারের বাড়ীর বারান্দার মাটি ভেঙ্গে লাশগুলো মাটি চাঁপা দেওয়া হলেও তাদের হাত-পা বাইরে ছিল। পাক বাহিনী চলে গেলে স্থানীয় লোকজন তাদের পুন:রায় মাটি চাপা দেওয়া হয়। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানায় অনেকে স্কুলের বারান্দায় ও ছাদে আশ্রয় নিয়েছিল। যারা ছাদে আশ্রয় নিয়েছিল তাদের একজনের দ্বারা অন্যজনকে জবাই করিয়ে ছাদ থেকে ফেলে দেয়। পরবর্তীতে যে জবাই করে তাকেও গুলি করে হত্যা করে। লাশগুলো স্কুলের পিছনের পুকুরের পানিতে ফেলে দেয়। সাতক্ষীরা সদর উপজেলার দীনেশ কর্মকারের বাড়ীর বর্তমান অবস্থা সামনের অংশে একজন মুক্তিযোদ্ধা নির্মিত চারতলা ভবন ও পিছনের অংশে এখনো কিছুটা ফাঁকা রয়েছে।   *** The house of freedom fighter Mr. Kabir and the area behind the house used to be Dinesh Kormkar’s Vita (homestead) in 1971. Refuges took shelter in this house. Pakistani Army exterminated them, and then local people buried their dead bodies. Some of them were slaughtered, some of the bodies were thrown into the pond.

 ১৯৭১ সালের ২১ এপ্রিল সকালে পাকসেনারা সাতক্ষীরা টাউন হাইস্কুল (বর্তমান সরকারী উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়) পূর্বাঞ্চল থেকে আগত আশ্রিত শরণার্থীদের পার্শ্ববর্তী দীনেশ কর্মকার এর বাড়ীতে নিয়ে একের পর এক নির্বিচারে গুলি ও বেয়নেট দিয়ে খুঁচিয়ে খুঁচিয়ে হত্যা করে অসংখ্য নারী ও পুরুষকে। তারপর ট্রাক বন্দী করে বহু কুমারী মেয়েদের নিয়ে সন্ধ্যায় যশোরের দিকে চলে যায়। একই দিনে পাকসেনারা সাতক্ষীরা শহরের রেজিস্ট্রি পাড়ায় এ্যাড: কাজী মসরুর আহমেদ (ক্যাপ্টেন কাজী) এর দ্বিতল বাড়ীর পূর্বাংশ ধ্বংস করে এবং তাঁকে ও তাঁর শ্যালক শেখ মাসুদার রহমানকে গুলি করে হত্যা করে। অতঃপর পাকসেনারা সুলতানপুর কুমারপাড়ায় একই পরিবারের সুরেন্দ্রনাথ পাল, নগেন্দ্রনাথ পাল ও কেষ্টপদ পাল নামে তিনজন হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের ব্যক্তিকে হত্যা করে এবং সুলতানপুর শেখ মশির আহমেদ এর তিনতলা বাড়ী ধ্বংস করে দেয়। একই সময় ইছাগাছা এ্যাড: কালীপদ রায়ের দ্বিতল বাড়ীও ধ্বংস করে এবং উক্ত বাড়ীর সম্মুখে সাতক্ষীরা সিলভার জুবিলি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক আব্দুল কাদের ও কাটিয়া নিবাসী পুন্য সাহকে গুলি করে হত্যা করে। এই নরঘাতকরা সাতক্ষীরা কোর্টের মোহরার চ-ীদাস ও গোষ্ট বাবুকেও নির্মমভাবে গুলি করে মারে। তাছাড়া, শিক্ষক হরধন বাবু, দেবেন মুখার্জী ও এ্যাড: কার্ত্তিক চন্দ্রের বাড়ী পুড়িয়ে দেয়।   ***  In a morning on 21st April, 1971 Pakistani Military Force started to kill many men and women in Shatkhira Town High School (Present Government High School) through fire and bayonets. They had also abducted several young girls and moved towards Jessore. On this day they had killed many famous and important people and burnt down many houses of the locality.

ডায়মন্ড হোটেলে যখন বন্দী বেশি হয়ে যেত তখন বাকীদের পি. এন. হাই স্কুলে পাঠানো হতো। এখানেও অমানবিক নির্যা তন করা হতো। **  When captives were much in numbers in the Diamond Hotel, the rest of them used to be sent to P N High School. They used to be tortured inhumanly here too.

বিভিন্ন জায়গা থেকে রাজাকাররা মানুষদের ধরে নিয়ে আসতো। এখানে নারীদেরকেও নির্যাতন করা হতো। হাতবাশ গ্রামের মান্দার মোড়লের জামাতা নওশের ও তার ছেলে রাজাকার ছিল। তারা দিনের বেলায় এসে হিন্দুদের ধরে নিয়ে যেত এবং তাদের সুন্দরী মেয়ে ও বৌদের ডাকবাংলাতে ধরে নিয়ে নির্মমভাবে নির্যাতন করতো। বড়বিলা গ্রামের ছলি নামক ব্যক্তির বৌকে ডাকবাংলায় চার মাস আটকে রেখে পাকসেনারা পাশবিক নির্যাতন করে। এছাড়া পূর্বে উল্লেখিত মাগুরা ইউনিয়নের ঝুনু বাবু ও তার পনের জন সঙ্গীকে ক্যাম্পে নিয়ে বেয়নেট দিয়ে খুঁচিয়ে ক্ষত স্থানে লবণ মাখিয়ে নির্যাতন করে হত্যা করে। Razakars used to abduct people from different places. Women were also tortured here. The Razakars used to abduct the people from Hindu community, especially women, and tortured them in the Dakbungalow. The wife of Choli from Barobila village had been tortured inhumanly by the Pakistani army for 4 months there. Also, Jhunu Babu of Magura and his 15 companions were taken to the camp, picked with bayonet and rubbed with salt on the wound then killed.

পাটকেলঘাটা ব্রিজের পাশে খানসেনাদের ঘাঁটি ছিল। আর গ্রামে ছিল তাদের গোয়েন্দাবাহিনী রাজাকাররা। কখন কে যুদ্ধে যাচ্ছে এই খবর তাদের কানে পৌঁছালে পাটকেলঘাটায় তাদের ধরে নিয়ে যাওয়া হতো এবং সেখানে তাদের হত্যা করা হতো। চাঁদকাটী গ্রামের করিম গাজীকে এভাবে মারা হয়। তাছাড়া মাগুরা গ্রামের অজয় রায় চেীধুরী ওরফে ঝুনু বাবু ও তার ১৫জন সঙ্গী ভারতে ট্রেনিং এর জন্য যাচ্ছিল। বাড়ী থেকে বের হওয়ার পর ইসলামকাটি পৌঁছানো মাত্র রাজাকারদের আল শামস বাহিনীর হাতে ধরা পড়ে। তাদের সবাইকে পাটকেলঘাটা ডাকবাংলায় নিয়ে আসা হয়। এখানে তাদের নির্মমভাবে হত্যা করা হয়।   The Pakistani camp was set up beside the Patkelghata Bridge. Razakars were the informer of the Pakistani Army, they used to inform Army about peole who was going to the Liberation War. After being informed, Pakistani Army used to abduct them camp at Patkelghata and killed there. This is how Karim Gazi of Chandkati village was killed. Besides, Ajay Roy Chowdhuri (Jhunu Babu) of Magura and his 15 companions were going to India for training.  They were being captured by Al-Shams Bahini and Razakar force just after reaching Islamkati. All of them were taken to Patkelghata Dakbungalow. Then they are brutally killed here.

ডায়মন্ড হোটেল ও পি.এন. স্কুলে যাদের নির্যাতন করা হত তাদের মারার পর বর্তমান সার্কিট হাউজের পিছনে আটপুকুরের ধারে নিয়ে ফেলে রাখা হত।   ***  Many people have been tortured and killed at the Diamond Hotel and P N School. Their bodies had been thrown at the side of Atpukur (Pond), besides present Circuit House.
পারকুমিরা উপ-স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্রের পার্শ্বে গণকবর/ Mass Grave Beside Perkumira Sub-Health Center:
১৯৭১ সালে পারকুমিরা ছিল প্রায় হিন্দু অধ্যুষিত এলাকা। বর্তমানে স্থানটি ব্যক্তি মালিকানাধীন। মেহগনি ও তাল গাছ লাগানো তার মধ্যবর্তী স্থানে লম্বা ছোট খাল ছিল তার ভিতরে লাশগুলো দীর্ঘদিন পড়ে ছিল। পরে স্থানীয় লোকজন এসে লাশগুলো মাটির নীচে চাপা দেয়। বর্তমানে জমিটা অনাথ বিশ্বাসের দখলে। ***  In 1971, Perkumira was nearly a Hindu inhabitant area. Presently, the place is owned by a person. There was a long canal between the Mahogany and the palm trees and dead bodies were left here for many days. Later, locals buried the bodies under the ground. At present, the land is in the possession of the Anath Biswas.
পারকুমিরার গণহত্যা/ Parkumira Genocide
১৯৭১ সালের ২৩ এপ্রিল (৯ বৈশাখ), পাটকেলঘাটা বাজারে জনৈক পাঞ্জাবী রুটি বিক্রেতা অবাঙালি মনুকসাই ও স্থানীয় কতিপয় পাকিস্তানী দালালদের সহযোগিতায় খানসেনারা পারকুমিরা ও পুটিখালি গ্রামে প্রবেশ করে এবং কয়েকজন নিরীহ স্থানীয় লোকজনকে ধরে নিয়ে আসে। এ সময় খুলনা, ফুলতলা ও নওয়াপাড়া থেকে আগত শরণার্থীরা ভারত যাওয়ার পথে পারকুমিরা দাতব্য চিকিৎসালয়ে বিশ্রাম করছিলেন। ভোরে মসজিদ থেকে মুয়াজ্জিনের আযানের ধ্বনি ভেসে আসছে, ঠিক ঐ সময় শুরু হয় নারকীয় হত্যাযজ্ঞ। পাকসেনারা দাতব্য চিকিৎসালয়ের সামনে ৪৯ জনকে নির্মমভাবে হত্যা করে। এরপর পাকসেনারা পাটকেলঘাটা বাজারে অব্দুর রউফ, দীনবন্ধু পাল, অনিল দাস, নিমাই সাধু, গোস্ট, বিহারী কুন্ডসহ কয়েকজন নিরীহ লোককে গুলি করে হত্যা করে। নির্মমভাবে পুড়িয়ে মারে কাশিপুর গ্রামের হায়দার আলী বিশ্বাসকে। তিনি ছিলেন তৎকালীন মুসলিম লীগের একজন কর্মী। তাঁকে নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়েছিল পারকুমিরা গ্রামের হিন্দু পাড়ায় বাড়িঘরে আগুন দিতে কিন্তু হায়দার আলী বিশ্বাস তাতে অসম্মতি জানালে তাঁর শরীরে পাট জড়িয়ে কেরোসিন ঢেলে নির্মমভাবে পুড়িয়ে মারা হয়। মৃতদেহগুলোকে তালগাছ ও মেহগনি গাছের মধ্যবর্তী স্থানে  দীর্ঘদিন ফেলে রাখার পর মাটি চাপা দেওয়া হয়েছিল। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানায় পারকুমিরা গ্রাম ছিল অধিকাংশ হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের বসতি। ১৯৭১ সালে পারকুমিরার প্রত্যেক বাড়ীতে তল্লাশি করে বহু লোককে মেরে ফেলা হয়। পারকুমিরা গ্রামটিই ছিল গণহত্যার স্পট।     *** On 23rdApril 1971, Pakistani Army, with the help of a Punjabi bread dealer, non-Bangali Manukasai and some local Pakistani brokers, entered the village of Parkumira and Putikhali villeges, and abducted some innocent locals. At the time, some refugees from Khulna, Phultala and Nawapara were on their way to India and stopped at a charitable dispensary in Parkumira. In the dawn, the Pakistani army brutally killed 49 people there. Haider Ali Biswas, an activist of the then Muslim League of Kashipur village was brutally burned. He was ordered to set fire to the houses in the Hindu Para of Parkumira, but he disagreed and was brutally burned. According to the witnesses Parkumira was a Hindu inhabitant village. In 1971, a lot of people were killed in Parkumira.
