মে মাসের প্রথমদিকে অর্থাৎ ২৪ বৈশাখ, শনিবার তালা থানার হরিণখোলা ও গোয়ালপোতা গ্রাম পাকবাহিনী ও রাজাকারদের দ্বারা আক্রান্ত হয়। গ্রাম দু’টিতে একচেটিয়া হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের লোকজন বসবাস করত। কয়েকজন পাকসেনা ও কুখ্যাত রাজাকার গুলবাহার (শাল্লে) এর নেতৃত্বে একদল রাজাকার উক্ত দু’টি গ্রামে ঢুকে মেশিনগান দিয়ে নির্বিচারে গুলি ও বেয়নেট দিয়ে খুঁচিয়ে হিন্দু ভদ্রলোকদের নৃশংসভাবে হত্যা করে। পুড়িয়ে দেয়া হয় উভয় গ্রামের কয়েকটি বসতঘর, রান্নাঘর, গোয়ালঘর ও ধানের গোলা। পাকসোনদের হাতে কেউই রক্ষা পায়নি বলে জানা যায়। হত্যাযজ্ঞের পর পাকসেনারা চলে গেলে অনেক দুষ্কৃতিকারী তাদের ঘরবাড়ি লুটপাট করে।

In early May, the villages of Harinkhola and Goyalpota at Tala Thana were attacked by the Pakistani army and Razakars. These two were Hindu inhabitant villages. Pakistani army and Razakars, led by the notorious Razakar Gulbahar (Shalle), entered into these two villages and fire indiscriminately with machine guns. Homes were burnt down in both villages. No one could, especially Hindu family, spare from the hands of them. Even many miscreants looted their houses too.
