৭১ এ রেল কলোনিতে বসবাস করতেন রেল বিভেগের চাকরীজীবী মইনুল হক। তাঁর আট ছেলেমেয়ের মধ্যে তৃতীয় সন্তান মোঃ মঞ্জুরুল ইসলাম খুলনা এম এম সিটি কলেজের ছাত্র ছিলেন। ৭১ এর নয় ডিসেম্বর তারিখে তাদের সাহেবের কবরখানা রোডের দোকানে বড় ভাইকে খাবার পৌঁছে দিতে গিয়ে তিনি আর ফেরেন নি। মুক্তিযুদ্ধের পর তাঁর পিতা হারিয়ে যাওয়া সন্তানকে অনেক খুঁজেছেন। বাবুলের বোন কলেজ শিক্ষিকা পারভিন সুলতানা বলেন, “হ্যাঁনে রেলওয়ে স্কুলের ভেতরে অনেক লাশ পুঁতে রাখা হয়েছিলো। শুধু তাই নয়, রেলওয়ে স্কুলের ডাক্তারের বাসায় বাথরুমে জড়াজড়ি করা অবস্থায়  লাশও পাওয়া যায়। আব্বা রেলওয়ে স্কুল থেকে শুরু করে রেলওয়ে গুদাম পর্যন্ত ডোম দিয়ে গলিত লাশ খুঁজেছে, নিজের সন্তানের লাশের খোজে”। ২০১৬ সালে ‘১৯৭১ : গণহত্যা-নির্যাতন আর্কাইভ ও জাদুঘর’ এখানে একটি ফলক স্থাপন করেছে।

There was a pool (Doba) inside Hane Railway Boy’sschool. Currently there is a primary school.During 1971, Bengali people were abducted from different places and after killing them the bodies were thrown out in the pool. By this method, Pakistani along with their associates killed more than 100 people in this place.  

In 1971, employee of Railway diviosn Mainul Haque used to live in rail colony. His third child, Mohammad Manjurul Islam was a student of  MM city college then. On 9^th December 1971, he went to his shop and did not return. And, the father did not find his son’s body after searching everywhere. According to witness, many dead bodies were kept inside the Hane Railway Boy’s school. 

In 2016, '1971: Genocide-torture Archive and museum' has built a memorial in this place.
