পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী শার্শা হাসপাতালে ঘাঁটি স্থাপন করে। রাজাকার ও শান্তিকমিটির লোকেরা আশে পাশের মুক্তিকামী মানুষদের এই ক্যাম্পে ধরে আনতো। এখানে এনে প্রথমে তাদের কাছে কিছু প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করে তারপর চালাতো নির্মম নির্যাতন। নির্যাতন করে হত্যা করা হতো তাদের। রেললাইনের দক্ষিণ পাশে অবস্থিত এই হাসপাতাল বধ্যভূমিতে কমপক্ষে পাঁচ শতাধিক মানুষকে হত্যা করা হয়েছে।

Pakistani forces set up their military base at Sharsha Hospital. The Razakars and the members of the Shanti Committee used to bring the local people to the camp. They used to interrogate them first, then tortured brutally and exterminated. It is estimated that, at least 500 people were killed in this mass killing field during wartime.
