১৬ মে পাকসেনা ও রাজকারদের একটি দল কালিগঞ্জ থানার রতনপুর বাজারে পৌঁছায়। উক্ত বাজারের পশ্চিম পার্শ্বে গনেশপুর গ্রামে ঢুকে ঘাতকরা অজিত বাছাড়, প্রভাত বাছাড়, গোপাল সরকার, গুরুপদ বাছাড়, অনাথ সরকার, ধনপর মন্ডল এবং মিনাজকাটি গ্রামের খলিলুর রহমান (খলিল) কে আটক করে নিয়ে আসে। এরপর তাদেরকে রতনপুর বাজারে নৃশংসভাবে গুলি করে হত্যা করে।

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Kalpurush; mso-bidi-language: BN-BD;" lang="BN-BD">৩ সেপ্টেম্বর শ্যামনগর থানার চুনকড়ি নদীর মুখে মুক্তিযোদ্ধারা পাক গানবোট-এর ওপর আক্রমণ করেন। কয়েক জন পাকসেনা গানবোটে হরিনগর স্কুল অভিমুখে যাচ্ছিল। এ খরব পেয়ে বিশিষ্ট মুক্তিযোদ্ধা নবাব্দি ফকির তাঁর দলবল নিয়ে ঐ গানবোটের ওপর হামলা করে। তাঁদের প্রতিরোধের মুখে গানবোটের কিছুটা ক্ষতি হয়। ফলে পাকসেনারা ফিরে যেতে বাধ্য হয়। অতঃপর ৯ সেপ্টেম্বর পাকবাহিনী ও রাজাকাররা এ হামলার প্রতিশোধ নিতে হরিনগর বাজার ঘেরাও করে। ওরা ব্যাপক গণহত্যা চালায় ও অগ্নি সংযোগ করে। ঐ গ্রামের ২৯ জনসহ বাহিরের গ্রামের নিরীহ ব্যক্তিরা নিহত হন।</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"> </p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Kalpurush; mso-bidi-language: BN-BD;">***</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Kalpurush; mso-bidi-language: BN-BD;">On 3rd September, the freedom fighters attacked the Pakistani Gunboat at Chunkari rive of Shamnagar Thana. Some Pakistani army was heading towards Harinnagar School in Gunboat. On receiving this charge, prominent freedom fighter Nawabadi Fakir along with this troop attacked them. So, the Pakistani army was forced to return.
