যশোর সেনানিবাসের ভেতরে পাকিস্তানি সেনারা হাজার হাজার মানুষকে নির্মম ভাবে নির্যাতন ও হত্যা করেছে। যশোর শহর ও যশোরের বিভিন্ন উপজেলা থেকে অসংখ্য মানুষকে ধরে আনা হতো সেনানিবাসে। এছাড়া যশোর শহরের রাজনৈতিক নেতাকর্মী, শিক্ষক, ডাক্তার, ইঞ্জিনিয়ার, আইনজীবী, সংস্কৃতিকর্মীসহ বহু মানুষকে ধরে প্রথমে নির্মম নির্যাতন করে তাদেরকে হত্যা করা হয়েছে। সেনানিবাসের ভেতরে কয়েকটি স্থানকে তারা বধ্যভূমি হিসেবে বেছে নিয়েছিল। স্বাধীনতার পর এই সেনানিবাসের মধ্যে বিভিন্ন স্থানে অসংখ্য গণকবরের সন্ধান পাওয়া গিয়েছিল। এসব গণকবর ও বধ্যভূমি এলাকায় বিচ্ছিন্নভাবে পড়ে ছিল মাথার খুলি, মেয়েদের জুতা, কাপড়, চোপড়, মাথার চুল, চুড়ি ইত্যাদি। অসংখ্য নারীদের ধরে এনে পাকিস্তানি সেনারা ধর্ষণ ও নানারকম নির্যাতন করে তাদের হত্যা করেছিল। একাত্তরের মার্চ থেকে ডিসেম্বর পর্যন্ত যশোর সেনানিবাসে প্রায় ১০০ দিনে কমপক্ষে ৫ হাজার মানুষকে হত্যা করা হয়েছে।

Pakistani army tortured ruthlessly and killed thousands of people on Jessore Cantonment. They used to abduct several people from Jessore city and nearby Upazillas. Besides these, many political leaders, teachers, doctors, lawyers, the cultural worker had been tortured and killed afterwards. After Liberation, many mass graves have been found from this cantonment. Also, skulls, lady-shoes, clothes, hair, bangles etc. were found in the cantonment. Several women were tortured, raped and killed here by the Pakistani Army. At least 5 thousand of people had been killed by the Pakistani Army in this place.
