On July, 6 students from Khulna were arrested by the Razakar troop who (students) were coming to join in the liberation war. The Razakars killed 3 of them. The martyrs were buried on the south of the Kalaroa football field.

Later, they were identified as freedom fighters and handed over to the police station. 3 of them were miraculously able to flee to India. Other 3 were brutally killed. They had been grounded besides the police station. Instead of recognizing the Kolaroa mass grave, a Central Shaheed Minar at Kolaroa Upazilla and a Victory Monument have been built to the memory of the martyrs. </span></p> -

The troop was crossing Jessore-Satkhira Main road. Vicious Motiyar Rahman (Bukra Moti) stopped the car and with the help of him Pakistani military fired to kill a huge number of refugees from Jessore; Pakistani army had fired on the huge refugee indiscriminately and burnt down many houses and shops. Those who are buried here are- Abdul Khalek of Mangalkot village, Jamal Uddin of Goripur village, Abdur Razzak and Jamsed Ali of Hanuar village, Nurul Islam of Raeep village. </span></p>
