১৯৭১ সালের ২৮ এপ্রিল বুধবার সকালে পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনি কোপন কারিগর ও রিয়াজ শেখ নামের দুজনসহ আরও কয়েকজনকে আটক করে। এসময় কোপন কারিগরকে সূরা বলতে বলে কিন্তু সে পারে না। অন্যদের কাপড় খুলে দেখে তারা হিন্দু না মুসলমান। তারপরে যাদেরকে আটক করে সবাইকে পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনি গুলি করে হত্যা করে। স্থানীয় বৃদ্ধ নুরুল হক বলেন এদের মধ্যে একজন গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে বেঁচে গিয়েছিলেন। কিন্তু তিনি তারা নাম ঠিকানা কিছু জানেননা।

On the morning of April 28, the Pakistani army arrested several others, including Kopan Karigor and Riaz Sheikh. They asked Kopan to recite Sura (From Holy Quran) but he couldn’t. Even the Pakistani army made them to take off their clothes to check their religion, whether they are Hindu or Muslim. Then the Pakistani army killed all of them. Only one of them survived from this massacre.
