They were resting here for a day with the intention of leaving the country for India. Members of the Pakistani forces stopped a gunboat near Babuganj Bazar and randomly opened fire on the shores of Khalishakhali on their way to Chitalmari, killed about 50 people. Among the locals who were killed, Nilkamal Mondol was stabbed to death by the Razakar men, while others were shot dead by the Pakistani forces.
