Razakar and Ranger forces patrolled the highway and river to prevent the freedom fighters. They used to capture the frighted fleeing refugees and loot them. Later they would either shoot at Jamtala or slay at Nimtala near Dak Bungalow. The Pakistani forces killed around 2500 to 3000 people here.

Unlike him many Bangalis like were captured and killed from the bridge. But it is unknown how many people were killed this way.

তালখড়ি গণকবর:  আড়পাড়া থেকে হাজরাহাটি যেতে প্রধান সড়কের পাশেই তালখড়ির যুদ্ধে নিহত ৭জনের গণকবরটি অবস্থিত। এই কবর সম্পর্কে বাংলাদেশ সরকার নথিভুক্ত করেছে। এই গণকবরের উপরে স্মৃতিস্তম্ভ নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।    Talkhari Mass Grave The mass grave of 7 people, martyred in the battle of Talkhari, is located along the main road from Arpara to Hazarahati. Bangladesh Government has documented this grave. A monument has been erected over this mass grave.

তালখড়ি গণহত্যা ১৯৭১ সালে ৫ ডিসেম্বর তালখড়ি গ্রামে একটি সম্মুখ যুদ্ধ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। এই যুদ্ধে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে ৪ জন মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন, ২ জন আহত অবস্থায় কাতরাচ্ছিলেন। রাজাকার এবং রেঞ্জার বাহিনীর সদস্যরা কাতরানোর শব্দ শুনে ফিরে এসে ঐ দুজনকে গুলি করে মৃত্যু নিশ্চিত করে। চিত্তরঞ্জন বলেন,‘ বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার মাত্র ২ দিন আগে বঙ্গবন্ধুর ভাগ্নের নেতৃত্বে ফরিদপুর জেলার ১০০০ অধিবাসী প্রশিক্ষণ শেষে পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী স্থাপিত আড়পাড়া ক্যাম্প দখল করতে আসে। এই সংবাদ পাকিস্তানি বাহিনী আগে থেকে জানতে পেরে প্রতিরোধের প্রস্তুতি নেয়। ফলে আড়পাড়া আসার পথে তালখড়িতে উক্ত মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের সাথে সম্মুখ যুদ্ধ হয়। সেই যুদ্ধে খান সেনারা ৭ মুক্তিযোদ্ধাকে হত্যা করে। পরে গ্রামবাসীরা এসে কবর খুঁড়ে একই কবরে ৭ জনকে মাটি চাপা দেয়।’  ****   Talkhari Genocide A front battle perpetrated in Talkhari village on December 5. Here, 4 people died instantly and 2 were in critical condition. The Razakars and Rangers members returned and confirmed the death of the two. Chittaranjan said, “Only 2 days before the independence, 1000 villagers of Faridpur district got training under the leadership of Bangabandhu's nephew and came to occupy Aparpara camp. The Pakistani army was informed about this and they prepared to resist. As a result, there was a war with the freedom fighters at Talkhari on their way to Arapara. The Pakistani army killed 7 freedom fighters here. Later, the villagers came and grounded them togather into the same grave.

শতখালী-সিংহেশ্বর পাড়া গণহত্যা  মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সময় লোহার ব্রিজে (বর্তমানে এই ব্রিজটি পাকা করা হয়েছে) টহলরত পাকিস্তানি সেনারা ৮ জন মুক্তিযোদ্ধাকে ধরে নিয়ে আসে। পরিচয় নেয়ার পর দুজনকে ছেড়ে দেয়। বাকি ৬ জনকে গুলি করে নির্মমভাবে হত্যা করে। শতখালী গ্রামের অধিবাসী চান্দ আলী বিশ্বাস এই হত্যাযজ্ঞের একজন প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী। সেদিন যারা শহিদ হয়েছিলেন তারা হলেন দেশমুখপাড়ার মান্নাফ, মমিন, রউফ ও পান্নু, শরশুনার কুদ্দুস। অপর একজনের নাম জানা যায় নি।    Shatkhali-Singheshwar Para Genocide During the Liberation War, the Pakistani army captured 8 freedom fighters on the Iron Bridge. After cheaking, they let two of them to leave and killed the rest. Those who were martyred on that day are Manaf, Momin, Rauf and Pannu. The other names were not known.
